He also said the psychologist told him not to say anything at work unless he was about to be fired. He doesn't think he has any serious problems at work. He works for a landscaping firm and works outdoor a lot, with a lot of physical labor, and he thinks this suits him well. He doesn't have to do a lot of paperwork, and he doesn't think he makes any more mistakes that way than anyone else, and that everyone seems to get along well there.

He has noticed, he says, that everyone seems to have an opinion about AD/HD, and he is finding out that this doesn't always mean they're right, so for now he agrees with the psychologist and isn't saying anything at work, but he's hoping to find emotional support from members in the family. Right now he realizes that it won't come from his parents. They aren't hostile about it but they're skeptical about the diagnosis.

However, one of his cousins seems interested, and Uncle Bill noted with a grin that this cousin often joined him in some of the stunts he pulled. He said one day when they lived out in the country they built a stone wall across a country road. No one hit it because cars could see it from a long way away, but from a hiding place they saw two cars turn around. Finally two men in a truck took down enough of it that they could drive through. Then he and his cousin realized it could be dangerous and took the rest of it down.

Uncle Bill is a great guy but I got the feeling that this AD/HD has caused more pain for him than he is letting on, and I'm glad he's getting help for it......
