While most people consider the child and the mother as victims of abortion, many fail to realize its effects on the family, society, and the state as a whole. The populations suffer from the scars of abortion as the mother and the aborted child. It is recognizable that almost all cultures around the world recognize abortion as an illegal act. Different cultures have unique behaviors, norms, and practices that ensure social order. Having an abortion violates the culture of a society hence, should never be legalized. Human life begins immediately at the time of conception. The fact shows that, human life begins from the point fertilization takes place. Thus, the global population should recognize the importance of life before birth and not after birth (Keown 201).

Human beings should preserve human life rather than destroy it. Protection of human life starts with self-preservation that extends to all spheres of humanity through the realization of the human nature and bonds. As such, abortion stops the life a human being, violating the principle of human life preservation. Although people consider it as a safe practice, it is highly recognizable that the procedure is unsafe when compared to other medical procedures. The fact that the practice is largely unregulated and lack of reliable statistics on its safety compound to the safety issues surrounding abortion.
Abortion is a sinful act the breed evil in the society. For instance, disclosure of the past behaviors of an individual such as the number of abortions prior to getting married increases the risks of disintegration of the family. As such, this shows the effect of abortion in increasing the risk of disintegration of social institutions. The point that an unborn feels pain during the procedure violates the rights of the unborn child. Laws of the states provide for the protection of human life that extends to the unborn children.

Therefore, legalizing abortion implies violation of the stated laws that protect human beings from suffering and oppression in the society. According to the Hippocratic Oath taken by health care providers, including the doctors, provision of health care entails upholding the stated ethics of practice. Ethics of healthcare provision incorporate doing no harm to individuals in the society and ensuring stability in their physiological functioning. Thus, legalizing abortion translates to the violation of the ethics of medical practice as stated in the Hippocratic Oath and the laws of a state that govern humanity (Keown, John 125). Therefore, the analysis shows that, abortion should never be legalized in the current global society.
