With that, Lincoln believed that being an American individual does not necessarily mean that you are of white, black, red, brown, or yellow complexion, which signify race. The term "American" has no racial insinuations for virtually all Americans trace their roots from distinct nationalities, races and ethnic groups and this complication alone can cause innumerable perplexed things. But because of the fact that America had evolved into its present status, all sorts of studies need to be carried out for the purpose of solving the problem. From there, Lincoln felt that the analysis of the people of America is only one of the countless implications brought about by the evolution of America itself, which means America was going to have slaves or free slaves, it could be both as seen in the following evidence.

Lincoln vied for the U.S. Senate in 1855 but eventually threw his support to Lyman Trumbull. In 1856 he joined the newly formed Republican Party, and two years later he campaigned for the Senate against Douglas. In his speech at Springfield in acceptance of the Republican senatorial nomination (June 16, 1858) Lincoln suggested that Douglas, Chief Justice Roger B. Taney, and Democratic presidents Franklin Pierce and James Buchanan had conspired to nationalize slavery. In the same speech he expressed the view that the nation would become either all slave or all free: "A house divided against itself cannot stand (Abraham Lincoln 2010)."

Towards the end of his life, Lincoln knew that if people have socially supportive arrangements as the attributes of socially legitimate roles which provide for the meeting dependency needs without loss of esteem, they are less likely to show aggression while suppressing destructive behavior. From there, socially supportive environments were presented as pattern interpersonal relationships mediated through shared values and sentiments as well as facilitate the performance of social roles through which needs are met. In summation, social support has been defined as an intervening factor tied directly to the coping process, which helps them to want a cleaner environment will have a future (Pearson, 1986).


Conclusion

Within society, the statements that are made by the government authorities are true because they are the power among the people, which gives them more control and the authority to define what needs to be done. From there, it can be concluded that Lincoln inspired people to ban together and face the issues of America head on, which has encourage diversity to take over. "Lincoln won re-election in 1864, as Union military triumphs heralded an end to the war. In his planning for peace, the President was flexible and generous, encouraging Southerners to lay down their arms and join speedily in reunion. The spirit that guided him was clearly that of his Second Inaugural Address, now inscribed on one wall of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.: "With malice toward none; with charity for all; with firmness in the right, as God gives us to see the right, let us strive on to finish the work we are in; to bind up the nation's wounds.... " (Abraham Lincoln- the White House 2010). It is unfortunate that he was killed for his good changes and efforts on American society because he did bring diversity to it, which enabled other races to be free in this country.
