America has always been at the top in the counting of developed countries all over the world. In the past 50 years, the rate of poverty has somehow declined but one can say that it is only for a specified circle of society (Carrillo, 2012). The poverty rate fluctuated around 22.4% to 15.11% in the past 50 years (Iceland, 2012). Although the ratio has decreased but it's a considerable rate for country like USA. Here the question which is under consideration is the poverty rate of those Africans who have been living there for a very long time but they are the most under privileged community of this society as depicted by the researches and reports every year.

The report of Income, Poverty and Health Insurance Coverage stated that 27.4% of Africans are living even below poverty line (Iceland, 2012). Afro-Americans also named as Blacks in America were generally brought in there as slaves and from then onwards Afro Americans were mostly kept as enslaved. They could hardly have the necessities of life in their crucial times in USA. According to statistics 38.1 million of American population is Africans who are facing serious slump in the acquisition of necessities of life like food, shelter (Shapiro, 2004). Their poverty and food insecurity rate is closely linked. From education to income, unemployment to nutrition assistance program everything has been neglected. However, one can also add to it that both Africans as well as Americans are responsible for this state of the poverty in the country.

Americans not openly accepted Africans and so their moral keep on lessening with the passage of time and they remain stuck where they were decades before with enslaved minds (Polednak, 1997).
