(Pendola) ("Radio Shack") ("Radio Shack Profits from Mobiles")

This helped us to understand how everything works and it allowed us to see the benefits of the Android over competitors. For instance, the Radio Shack salesperson helped us to transfer the settings from our old phone over to the new one. This made it easier to customize the device and select applications that were the most beneficial to us. (Pendola) ("Radio Shack") ("Radio Shack Profits from Mobiles")

The criterion that was used to prove if one location was better than the other was based upon a number of factors. To include: the response time, product knowledge and ability to meet our needs. In the case of response time, Radio Shack was quicker in welcoming us to the location and helping to select the best phone. Moreover, they had superior product knowledge and the ability to meet our needs when it comes to service. (Pendola) ("Radio Shack") ("Radio Shack Profits from Mobiles")

This is superior service and support in contrast with Best Buy. As the salesperson, did not welcome us or have the ability to help customize the phone. Once we left the location is when there were challenges after the purchase. When we returned, they did not help in addressing these issues. Instead, we were left to deal with these problems on our own. This is showing how there are differences between the two electronics retailers (as far services, support and the friendliness of staff members). (Pendola) ("Radio Shack") ("Radio Shack Profits from Mobiles")

The criterion that we were using to understand the challenges impacting retailers requires focusing on: using practicality and ethics. As far as practicality is concerned, there were no preconceived notions about either retailer.
Instead, we objectively evaluated which company offered the best experience and the ability to understand the needs of customer. ("Evaluation Arguments") (Pendola) ("Radio Shack") ("Radio Shack Profits from Mobiles")

Practicality was used in this process to see how these services matched up with our levels of satisfaction. We determined that Radio Shack had the best service based upon their ability to meet our needs, product knowledge and help us more. When we left the store, everyone had a better understanding of the device and its uses. Whereas, Best Buy created confusion and caused us to feel as if they only cared about making a sale (versus meeting our needs). ("Evaluation Arguments") (Pendola) ("Radio Shack") ("Radio Shack Profits from Mobiles")

Ethics was used to see how much each company cared about their cliental. This is based upon their ability to follow the principle that the customer is always right. Under this philosophy, firms will value their opinions, treat them with respect and go beyond what they require. In the case of Radio Shack, they embraced this philosophy when we walked in the door. At the same time, they answered any questions and asked us if we needed anything else. ("Evaluation Arguments") (Pendola) ("Radio Shack") ("Radio Shack Profits from Mobiles")

While Best Buy, only answered some of these questions and quickly focused on closing the sale. This is when they pushed us out the door without providing any kind of explanation about the product or services. These contrasting philosophies influenced our views of each location and determined if we will return in the future. ("Evaluation Arguments") (Pendola) ("Radio Shack") ("Radio Shack Profits from Mobiles")
