Analysis of an Organizational Vision

Describe the company and its vision statement.

Toyota Motor Corporation, established in 1937, is an automotive company that has grown to become one of the biggest organizations in the world. Toyota designs, manufactures, assembles and retails vehicles in approximately 190 nations and regions across the globe. Toyota Motor Corporation is a multinational corporation with its main center of operations situated in Aichi, Japan. Since its establishment, the corporation had significantly grown and developed to become the largest car manufacturer in the world.

The vision statement of Toyota is:

“Toyota will lead the way to the future of mobility, enriching lives around the world with the safest and most responsible ways of moving people. Through our commitment to quality, constant innovation and respect for the planet, we aim to exceed expectations and be rewarded with a smile. We will meet our challenging goals by engaging the talent and passion of people, who believe there is always a better way” (Toyota Website, 2018).

Discuss the attributes that make the vision meaningful.

There are different attributes that make Toyota’s vision meaningful. The first part of the vision statement outlines that the corporation purposes to become the future leader in the automotive industry with respect to motor vehicles. Imperatively, a vision statement postulates the expected future position of a particular brand. The second section of the vision statement lays emphasis on the consumers of Toyota Corporation across the globe indicating that their safety is of great concern to the organization. What is more, the vision statement of the organization elucidates Toyota’s devotion and dedication to innovation, high standards of quality and as well as responsibility to the society and the environment. Finally, the statement also sheds light on the workforce of the organization. It demonstrates that the corporation has a significant belief in employing talented and passionate individuals who also have the belief in innovation.

An additional key attribute of the vision statement is the respect to the planet. The process for the development of an Environment Action Process starts with the parent company situated in Japan.
Subsequent to every five years, Toyota Motor Corporation comes up with a global five-year environmental action plan. This plan has enabled the corporation to receive awards and honors of being socially and environmentally responsible. Most of all, at the core of the company’s vision statement, Toyota Corporation outlines that they purpose to surpass expectations and be rewarded with a smile.…

One of the key aspects that are similar between Apple and Toyota is that both corporations constantly focus on innovation. Secondly, both companies clearly indicate that they are ready to take up change and encourage it within the organization amongst the labor force. In addition, both Apple and Toyota believe in having both passionate and talented employees regardless of the position in which they hold in the organization. However, there are key dissimilarities between the two companies in terms of their vision statements. First of all, Apple indicates that it is keen on making certain that it possesses and controls the technologies linked to the products manufactured and sold.
