Industry Analysis for Apple

The Apple began in the IT industry as a personal computer manufacturer with the Apple I series of computers in the 1970's. The company was not the first to design a personal computer, but it managed to revolutionize the home computing industry by releasing a personal computer that was designed for amateurs and not hobbyists and engineers (den Hartigh, Ortt, van de Kaa, & Stolwijk, 2016). This was in complete contrast to what other manufacturers were doing and this is what set the company apart from the rest. The company went further and developed personal computers that had a graphical user interface, which was unheard of during those times. This endeared the company to many home and business users who preferred to work on the Apple computers.

Apple has managed to transition itself from a purely hardware manufacturing company to a hardware and software company that revolutionizes the industry by releasing products that change the IT industry. The company currently deals in personal computers, phones, tablets, and laptops. All the products are integrated and come ready to use out of the box. The Apple products are considered superior and the company has managed to gain a huge following due to the nature of the products that it produces.
