Comparison of State Teacher Pay Scales

A wide variation is observed in the pay scales teachers in different states receive. All states' educational departments independently decide the salaries teachers receive. In a few school districts, teachers get additional emoluments aside from the base pay stipulated by the state. Further, post-graduate teachers, and those who have done post-graduation or higher, are eligible for higher salaries (A Comparison of State Teacher Pay Scales, n.d). The Teacher Portal (n.d) states that the average salary of teachers in Texas State is 49,900 dollars per annum. many other factors make the state a great prospect for individuals in the teaching field, including initiatives and programs aimed at financially supporting educators; e.g., conditional grant initiatives like "Teach for Texas," educator loan forgiveness, and "Certified Educational Aide Exemption Program." The latter provides educational aides who wish to acquire certification with tuition exemptions. Alaskan teachers have a broad range of opportunities: they may choose between working in rural communities, tribal communities and large cities. The state of Alaska provides teachers with a few of the country's most lucrative long-term benefits; also, student-to-teacher ratios in the state are normally low. The state encourages advanced education, for furthering teaching potential and career development.
