Spurred on by European colonialism, nationalistic fervor, and fear of immigration, the new science of race dug deep roots into European mass culture. "Scientific racism," or "race science," referred to the ideology that differences in human behavior derive from inherent group characteristics, and that human differences can be demonstrated through anthropological, biological, and statistical proofs.

Brustein 95)

There is a clear sense that anti-Semitism was a standard part of almost every aspect of human development, that culminated frequently in violent and subtle acts against Jews over and over again, throughout history.

At various times throughout the modern period, the myth of a "Jewish world conspiracy" has attracted adherents. Jews have been accused of plotting to take over the world by undermining the existing social and political order. The myth of the "Jewish world conspiracy" springs from diverse sources. As one source of the myth, Yehuda Bauer has pointed to the medieval anti-Jewish Christian accusation that, as the people of the devil, Jews, like the devil, aim to control the world.

There is in fact no point in human recorded history that there was not some campaign, seeded in jealousy and fear of individual failure that did not allow anti-Semitic ideals to creep into the popular and official histories of nations. The false representation of the world getting past this anti-Semitic history is relatively limited in reality, as such sentiments are still clearly evident. Occasional migrations or forced relocations of Ashkenazic Jews had occurred between 1750 and 1850, with Bukovina, northeastern Hungary, Moldavia, and the Pale of Settlement serving as the principal settlements. One of the largest forced resettlements of Jews took place between 1795 and 1835 with the establishment of the Pale of Settlement within the czarist Russian Empire. Ruppin adds that roughly one-quarter of a million Jews emigrated from East Central Europe between 1800 and 1880.

Again there is not period in history or place in the world, where Jews were not at one time or another excluded from ordinary life, and often barred from sustainable human existence, so much so that they were forced to move again and again to retain their lives and their identity. This can even be said of modern times, when a great deal of the religious aspect of Jewishness has been abandoned fro a more secular faith and existence, hence the need of the world to develop other aspects, than faith as an exclusionary tool, the biological root of anti-Semitism. Though there are many who believe that Anti-Semitism is a thing of the past, as we continue to reel at the sight of the atrocities of the holocaust, and yet anti-Semitism is alive and well today, likely biding its time to later express its ugly head again in later years.
