Architecture/Design Constraints

Design constraints, also, must be geared towards maximizing efficiency. Clean rooms will be needed for some of the components used in manufacturing, and these areas should be both separate yet easily accessible from the other areas of the factory, including offices and other manufacturing rooms. Centralization of design is key to promoting intra-factory communication and coordination.

Purchased Components

All raw materials used for the construction of the factory and the manufacture of the cell phone units will need to be purchased from outside vendors. Where possible, exclusive contract from materials suppliers will be established to ensure security and competitive rates for both firms. The factory itself will only be engaged in the design and assembly of the cell phone units, and not in the procurement or the processing of the raw materials needed in the manufacturing process. Essentially every component of the factory and the manufacturing process, including equipment and raw materials, will need to be purchased.
