Data Visualization TroubleI once encountered a situation where I struggled to understand a data report during a project meeting. The data was presented in dense, tabular format, with hundreds of rows and columns of raw figures. The information was technically complete, but it was overwhelming and lacked structure. It was very difficult to gain anything from it quickly. It was basically impossible to sit there and identify patterns. I spent a lot of time trying to make sense of the figures, but felt confused and slowed down by it all.Several improvements could have made this data easier to understand with some more effective data visualization. First, using charts and graphs to display important metrics would have made the data more digestible (Stadler et al., 2016). For example, bar charts or pie charts could have shown the proportion of different categories, and line charts could have been used to show trends over time, and this would have made it much easier to identify changes and patterns.
