Continuing through the nave past the labyrinth, one finds one's self in the crossing, with transepts to the left and the right. Characteristic of gothic architecture, the transepts are meant to suggest the building is in the shape of a cross. Passing through this area, one notices the impressive light from the over 150 stained glass windows that are adorned with a variety of Biblical figures and scenes.
The stained glass, which is one of the Cathedral's most famous attributes, managed to survive a variety of conflicts and religious persecution from the cathedral's completion until modern times.
