In the article titled the Elderly Living Along in Need of Support Services, it discusses the life of IP So Hing. She is a 72-year-old woman that lives in Hong Kong. Who has no one to support or provide her with any kind of assistance. As her husband died over ten years ago and she has no children or other relatives to count on. The combination of these different factors means that Mrs. So Hing is vulnerable to a number of different issues. This is because of a lack of support including: financial and a readily available resources. At the same time, she is reluctant to rent out a room in her a 400 square foot apartment and she is malnourished. ("Elderly Living Alone in Need of Support Services," n.d.)

Unlike many of the 100,000 elderly people who are living along in Hong Kong, Ip was able to receive help from the Hong Kong Society for Community Organization (SOCO). This is a human rights group that reaches out to those who are most vulnerable in society.
