Christie's Education Application

Ultimately, there are so many reasons for applying to Christie's Education. After all, it is a chance of a lifetime. First and foremost, the program is definitely unparalleled, with some of the best academic programs and faculty. Christie's is located in the vibrant cultural hub of London, which I hope will be a very fruitful environment for my own talents and inspirations to flourish. I find myself with a strong yearning for academic rigor. Both my heart and mind need stimulation, and a clear challenge that will help mold my own skills and abilities as I evolve as a thinker, but also as a strong art enthusiast. I have an unbridled passion for art and for building a strong education that will provide a strong foundation for me to reach all of my goals and aspirations in this short life we live.

Additionally, I have a deep interest in art, as well as understanding how art is perceived by the public eye. There is definitely a clear difference between the vision of the artist and that of the viewer.

My greatest artistic passion lies in the fields of global consciousness and mixed media. In such an increasingly globalized world, I enjoy seeing this new sense of international consciousness expressed in art that is as multi-faceted as the individual members of our international community. One particularly forward thinking artist who inspires me is Nam June Paik. His work emanates a sense of modernity, as he was one of the pioneers in video art in the 1970s and has continued onto a long career working with various mediums in a variety of interesting and innovative globally inspired art instillations. His use of television screens as an artistic medium is brilliant, and to me a very creative way of expressing deep-rooted cultural concepts within his art.
