Gay rights movements have been instituted with the goal of legalizing gay marriage while religious fundamentalists maintained their opposing stance.

I am in favor of supporting gay marriage for two basic reasons. First, homosexuals, as a gender, have experienced the most discrimination of any gender class. This poses problems in their overall well-being. No person should experience such kind of disadvantaged position simply because of societal stigma. And through opposing gay marriage, we as a society, further intensifies the discrimination being experienced by the gay community.
