It is important in one's personal life to be mindful of their physical surroundings so that they can protect themselves from harm. If one just goes around unaware of what is going on around them they will for sure end up in a situation that is not where they want to be. It is also important to be mindful of one's emotional surroundings so that one does not become out of touch with reality and thus find themselves in situations that they don't belong. In one's professional life it is also important to be mindful of one's surroundings so that they always know what is going on and how they fit into what is happening at the time. It is always a good idea in work environment to be aware of who is around you at all times so that you don't say something that you shouldn't or do something inappropriate for the time and place.
