For this, the kingship was taken away from Solomon's descendants and given to Jeroboam son of Nebat. God's words to Solomon regarding this issue appear in 1 Kings 11: 13:... " For the same reason, Solomon was spared this event during his lifetime. Solomon died after 40 years as ruler of Israel and was buried in the City of David, like his father. As prophesied, Solomon's empire was lost and divided after his death. Both kings reigned with wisdom, but also with a fair amount of human foolishness. Perhaps it is this very element that makes them prominent in history even today......
