I. Total Immersion: Know your topic/consider best ways to use tech and non-tech methods.

Make a list of all the activities in the unit. Divide the activities into two categories: tech and non-tech.

As noted above, I started off by immersing myself in the how-to part of transforming a lesson. Once I did that, I felt ready to conquer the smaller details. I did it much like I normally lesson plan (backwards) and much like I write (massive lists and pre-writing).

III. Know your purpose, your objective, and the desired student output.

IV. Examine which traditional activities in the unit could be completed using technology and which traditional activities would benefit most by maintaining the traditional arrangement.

V. Gather all supplemental activities/handouts/directions that I already have and make sure I can still use them. (Create blank business letter tablet; create cut-up paragraphs of a business letter and see if students can put it in order.
