Desktops and laptops can both run the same software applications, but they function in different ways to serve the needs of different people. The main differences between the desktop and the laptop are size, portability, and hardware stats.

Although the basic hardware and software components of desktop and laptop computers are the same, the two vary in the ways and contexts in which they are used. Desktops are far bigger than laptop computers: size is one of the most noticeable differences between the two. With a desktop computer, the user needs room for monitor and the CPU, as well as extra space for mouse and keyboard.
