Again, this is more convenient than playing telephone tag, fast forwarding through replies and writing down messages, and remembering who called back and who has to be called again and again.

Email can go out at any time 24/7. People can send out emails whenever it is most convenient. It does not matter whether it is very early in the morning, in the middle of the afternoon or late in the evening. Once again, this also helps with communicating with others in different time zones. There are only certain times when it is best to call people, without concern about waking them up, disturbing them in the middle of work, or calling too late at night.

However, email also has its disadvantages when compared to a telephone.
Email is helpful for brief and uncomplicated messages. Long emails are often not read or can be very intimidating. A phone conversation still cannot be matched for explaining more difficult information, where the caller may have to respond to questions and concerns. The phone also insures confidentiality. Many times, people do not want their comments in print or, which can be the case, accidentally forwarded to the wrong person. More importantly, if two people can not meet face-to-face for personal conversations, the phone still remains the second best way to communicate. Although facial expressions cannot be seen, the tone of voice and other hints, such as long pauses before responding to a question, say a great deal.

Email is flexible, quick, convenient and easy. In many cases, it is the best approach to sending out information. Yet, it falls short as the best communicator when it comes to that personal….....
