By easily identifying with the thoughts and concerns of their followers, transactional leaders can better take a group's pulse while at the same time correctly reading its concerns and thoughts.

Further, as I had earlier on indicated elsewhere in this text, Daft and Lane (2009) are convinced that when it comes to the management of change, transformational leaders perform relatively well. This is an indication that as compared to transactional leaders, transformational leaders do possess social skills.
