Molly, his partner, said the same thing.

And there was the noise -- no, the sound, or vibration or something -- whatever it was. That first day they heard a very faint humming noise -- almost human -- but not. Like a fan noise? Or a child humming to themselves? Weird, strange, and a little frightening. And he had heard it since, every so often as he explored the home top to bottom and found...nothing.

It was his last day on earth that Detective O'Reilly went back to the house for another look.

He walked in the door and was immediately blasted with the loudest sound he had ever heard.
..he saw the slick, slimy, wet spots just before the tentacles encircled his body, squeezing tightly. When police came to investigate, all they found was some wet spots on the floor. And then there was that humming noise that kept getting….....
