The following table labeled Figure 1 in this study states the responses given by participants in both groups in this study and as well provides totals and grand totals for both groups which for the purpose of this study are labeled as follows:

It is clear from the findings in this study which specifically show that Group 1 - Memory Recall Group (Outside Light) Participant responses were notably higher in their descriptive content more often describing more specific detailed in regards to their childhood memory which had been recalled than did participants responses in Group 2 - Memory Recall Group (Darkened or Muted Light) whose primary response was related to 'feelings' rather than color, texture, temperature or smell. Of the 100 possible categorical descriptive word responses that the participants in Group 1 might have utilized there were 53 descriptive responses given in their recall of a childhood memory however, in Group 2 of the 100 possible categorical descriptive word responses that might have been utilized only 31 such responses were given by participants in the second group.

The results of this study have indicated that memory recall of a childhood event or other event by the individual is more likely when such recall of memory takes place in outside light rather than in a room that has darkened or muted light. This belief is based on the research findings in this study that memory recall in outside light (Group 1) was 22% higher than memory recall (Group 2) in a room where the light has been darkened or muted.

CONCLUSION

This study sought to ascertain what impact that light has on the individuals' memory recall of childhood events. Toward this end an investigation of light and its impact on memory recall has been assessed and findings show that outside light positively affects the memory recall of an individual as compared to the light in a room where light is effectively muted or darkened.

RECOMMENDATIONS

The implications of the findings in this study cross over occupational boundaries and even the boundaries existing academically in the study of light-specific impacts on the biological, physiological, psychological and physical aspects of the individual. Much more research is needed in order to better understand the specific benefits that exist in regards to light in both its' intensity and color-specific benefits to the human being......
