My program topic happens to be environmental health. The aim of the program was to assess and evaluate environmental conditions in low-income households. I gathered crucial insights from a study conducted by Adamkiewics et al. (2014) to assess environmental conditions in low-income urban housing – in which case 20 households from low-income households were studied. The study involved individuals who were 18 years and above. 80% of the study population comprised of women from Hispanic population (Adamkiewic et al., 2014). Most individuals in the study population had income levels that were below poverty threshold. In addition, most of the study population spoke English and most participants had low levels of education with the summed index ?13 (Adamkiewicz et al., 2014).
The generalized model of planning helped in framing my program for health promotion. This is more so the case given that the said model provides guidelines and easier ways of implementing a program (Carlson and Saadati, n. d). For instance, it was imperative that I assess the needs of the target population, set goals and objectives, come up with interventions for achieving the set goals, implement them, and evaluate whether…
