S. companies expand their global outreach and develop closer relationships with multinationals. Also, as more countries with cultures different from the U.S.'s culture become part of the international economy, examples of potentially legally fraught discrimination are likely to proliferate rather than decrease in the future. The status of a company as American may make the difference in a lawsuit more than the actual behavior that transpired, even if the employee was clearly being harassed and discriminated against, based upon his or her gender, race, religion, or ethnicity.
