What steps do you take to get to know each one of your students?

I think that differentiated instruction is really important, so within the first two or three class sessions I try to ensure that I've had a brief one-on-one conversation with each student at some point during the lessons. This might consist simply of a, "how are you linking this?" followed by a brief interchange, but it gives me an initial insight into how each student approaches the material and the classroom experience as a whole. This makes ongoing observations and conversations far more fruitful, and enables me to adapt lesson plans or at least identify when certain students might run into trouble and be prepared with extra help or alternative approaches. What are your pedagogical strengths and weaknesses?

I am a constructivist at heart, and so I think one of my greatest strengths is my focus on interaction as part of the learning experience.
