These resources should reflect multicultural, multi-level learning environments. That way it is easier to accommodate the diverse backgrounds and proficiency levels of ELL students.Implementing Multisensory Instructional StrategiesMultisensory instructional strategies integrate listening, speaking, reading, and writing for ELLs of diverse backgrounds and varying English proficiency levels (Facella et al., 2005). This approach addresses phonology, morphology, semantics, pragmatics, syntax, and discourse, as they relate to Basic Interpersonal Communicative Skills (BICS) and Cognitive Academic Language Proficiency (CALP) development.
