It is through these safety inspections that customers and patrons are better protected against the incidence of fire or other natural disasters. This lowers costs incurred from the loss of reputation, lawsuits, rebuilding, and fines incurred with non-compliance of safety standards. As such, all parties involved benefit from a proper and thorough inspection process. If a particular building does not comply with safety codes, the government has the authority to suspend activities within the building for a predetermined time frame. As such, safety standards are very serious in regards to overall business entities. The government has the power to enforce these standards to the degree they deem necessary for the safety of the community involved.

Fire safety administration also works with municipal governments in the form of education and awareness of hazards. This is of particular interest to individuals suffering from Alzheimer's who may not be aware of certain warning signals. In many instances, municipal government fund the education initiatives presented by the fire safety administration. This awareness campaigns can have budgets ranging in the hundreds of thousands.
