The research was absolutely consistent in showing that such flight delays are costly to both passengers and air carriers alike, but the research also showed that even the most sophisticated software solutions cannot overcome airport congestion caused by air carriers scheduling their flights without regard for the impact of these decisions on their domestic and international competition.
