Dr. Ben Carson's Gifted Hands is a book about miracles in more ways than one. An autobiography, the book is a living testimonial about how faith and determination can overcome the most difficult of circumstances. This makes the book a must read for all those who feel helpless and trapped by either their circumstances or society's injustices. Indeed, Ben Carson's story both inspires and shows the way. Born an inner-city, black kid, who suffers from low self-esteem, Carson describes his journey from being regarded as a "dummy," to going on to win a scholarship at Yale University and then attending the University of Michigan Medical School.
In fact, Carson's life story truly feels as if one is witnessing a miracle of transformation, as today he is the Director of Pediatric neurosurgery at John Hopkins University Hospital and a world renowned neurosurgeon
