Stem EssayAs the newly elected head of the Department of Environmental Protection in New York City, my mission is to use the power of STEM to spearhead an ambitious, sustainable transformation in our urban community, so as to improve the quality of life for all its residents. With a $10 billion budget, my strategy centers on combating climate change, improving air and water quality, and creating a sustainable future for the city\'s diverse communities.Firstly, I would allocate a substantial portion of the budget towards green infrastructure projects. This includes expanding urban green spaces, developing rain gardens, and enhancing rooftop gardens across city buildings. These initiatives combat urban heat island effects and improve air quality and provide serene green spaces for the community.Innovation in renewable energy solutions will also be at the forefront of my agenda.
