There are a number of issues involved in health care including taxation, the fear of socialized medicine and the budget. Many Americans are opposed to higher taxes for the wealthy due to the fact that they will be the ones paying for most government spending including the proposed heath care bill. These people also argue that it's the wealthy that create jobs through investing and if their taxes are raised, there will be less investing and job creation.

As stated earlier, though Republicans believe that the American health care system needs reform, they feel that the best solution is not to hand it over to the government. The handing over of the health care system to the government has led to the fear of socialized medicine. The Republicans also believe that the American government is nearly bankrupt although the president has stated the proposed health care bill will reduce government expenses ("Republicans against Healthcare" par, 7). However, there may be a reasonable risk that it does not and the government may have to take on more debt. With these issues, President Obama has found it difficult in implementing the issues.

Conclusion:

For quite a long time, American citizens have been in need of reform in the health care system. The current health care system is increasingly unreachable to many poor, lower-class and middle-class people. The United States government therefore continues to spend a lot of money per capita for health care. With the proposed changes by the Obama administration, the reforms will go a long way in making health care accessible to all and reducing the government's expenditure on health care. However, the president has experienced difficulties because of the underlying issues that need to be dealt with if the changes are to be enacted.
