Reasons why an organization needs to collect HR data

HR data is collected for strategy purposes. The organization's management needs to know the qualifications of its current workforce to enable them make better strategies, and if need be they hire qualified employees who can deliver on the organizations goals and plans. This data will also ensure that the organization has the right people to handle the jobs assigned. The HR department will need to capture this data as a requirement from the Government. In particular large companies are required to collect and store employee information that should be provided upon request by law. In case of liabilities, the data collected can be used in defense of the company against any legal suit that may arise.

Types of HR or L&D data collected

Employee personal data, the data will assist the organization to know the qualifications of their individual employees their marital status, next of kin, and home address.
