b. The Hare Psychopathy Checklist is a psycho-diagnostic tool used in tandem with the broader PCL-R inventory to measure a person's psychopathic profile.

The Psychopathic Personality Inventory is a self-report survey used to comprehensively index personality traits without explicitly referring to anti-social or criminal behaviors themselves.

A person diagnosed with Antisocial Personality Disorder may not necessarily be diagnosed with Psychopathy but a person diagnosed with Psychopathy will necessarily be diagnosed with Antisocial Personality Disorder as well.

Describe the difference between an organized and disorganized crime scene.

a. An organize crime scene is characterized by planning, premeditation, and an d evasion efforts on the part of the offender. The offender has usually hidden the victim's body and the weapon. Also, the victim's body exhibits evidence of physical abuse before death . The violence appears to be controlled, with the offender using restraints on the victim.

A disorganized crime scene is characterized by spontaneity and chaos. The offender usually flees the scene hastily, leaving the victim's body and the weapon at the scene. There is usually evidence of sexual acts committed by the offender before and/or after death. The violence appears to be frenzied and brief.

b. The Visionary type kills because of a psychosis which causes them to break from reality and hear voices commanding them to kill specific people.

The Missionary type kills out of a sense of duty and righteousness. They usually try to eliminate a group of people deemed undesirable.

The Hedonist type kills in pursuit of a heightened pleasure achieved only through sexual gratification or a thrilling sensation accompanying danger. They are typically deviants, whose lives are driven by lust and excitement.

The Power type kills out of a desire for complete control over a person. They want to totally dominate the victim and have incredible patience in setting up their crimes.

c. Victimology is important because there is often some degree of victim facilitation of the serial murder. This facilitation can manifest in lifestyle tendencies, such as hanging out late at bars in isolated areas.
