I would suggest, for example, first presenting the main causes of accidents within the working environment (as a percentage, in the industry in general and in the company itself), presenting the main safety norms that the brainstorming team has come up with and presenting how the workers need to apply these norms. The initial drafted ideas will thus be polished into a working document.

The third phase of the action plan designed to implement the second objective of the three refers to communicating the conceived safety norms to the workers. The last two phases (the third and fourth) are perhaps the most difficult of all. In this cases, we are referring to identifying and using the proper means of communication in order to ensure that the safety norms message reaches the audience (the workers) and, especially, that they properly react on the information received, with the expected results.

In terms of communicating the message, first of all, a brochure with the working document containing causes of accidents, man safety norms and how the workers need to implement them, will be distributed to everyone in the workplace. Second of all, the bottling supervisor and Doug need to ensure that the workers have understood the working document. Ensuring that they are aware of the norms can be done by training sessions on the working document (once a week or 15 minutes each day during the program), where the workers can ask any questions that came up after reading the working document.

Additionally, the supervisor can keep a permanent contact everyday with the workers at work and casually ask them about the document and how they see things. Third of all, possibly because responsibility is a proper mean to ensure that people are constrained to abide by a certain set of rules, every worker should be asked to sign an additional clause in his working contract, by which he will stipulate that he has understood the safety norms and conditions that the new document implies and that he will abide by the rules.

The fourth phase of the action plan I have referred to is related to feedback and follow - up operations. This means what effects has the new working document and the implemented safety norms on the actual objective that led to their conception at the first. Has the number of work-related accidents reduced since the document was implemented? If it hasn't, why not (because these are not the right safety norms, because additional ones need to be implemented etc.)? The feedback and follow-up sessions should grade the working document on its efficiency….....
