What is a Hypocrite?

Hypocrite. It's a term synonymous with words like fraud and counterfeit, bringing forth the image of a person who is shifty and less than trustworthy. In some respects they lack morals. In others, they are simply ruthless. A hypocrite is a person that will say one thing or agree with one idea in front of others, but when alone, totally goes against said idea or statement. More often than not, they are masters of articulation and deception

There are several examples within society of what a hypocrite is and does. One example would be a politician. Some politicians will do anything to win an election, even go as far as to be a hypocrite. During the campaign, he/she will agree with many of the issues that concern voters the most. However, once the politician makes it into office, he/she will totally go against the campaign promises that were made by voting on bills that ignore their voters concerns. They merely said what voters wanted to hear in order to achieve the goal of obtaining office.

A second example of a hypocrite would be police officer. When becoming a police officer, one takes an oath stating he/she will uphold and protect the law and citizens. However, there are some who will take this oath and abuse it. For some officers, there may come a time where money is more important than a citizen's rights and chooses to go against the law he/she swore to uphold. It is at that point the officer becomes a hypocrite. The very people they swore to protect, this officer lies to and steals from, even going as so far as to protect the guilty rather than the innocent.

Thirdly, there is the example the news reporter. News reporters are supposed to report the news with honesty and integrity. Bringing to the viewing or listening audience information and truth. However, there are times when reporters use stories merely to advance his/her career. Taking tragedies and sensationalizing….....
