The social justice implications of Immigration Reform

Strangers are behind the formation of the beautiful land of America. The American land has flourishes because it is being by different sources. This rooted on the varied nourishments of different people, cultures, and traditions. Immigration reforms have made the U.S. A strong and vibrant nation. Reforms of immigration have been fostering the rich dynamism in the country. Appropriate welcoming of foreign visitors makes the country brighter and attractive across the globe (Jonas, 2009).

Implementation of immigration reforms introduced comprehensive legislation that fixed the formerly tampered system of immigration thus strengthening the U.S. economy. Economic experts supported evocative, human, and personal terms to address issues of families distanced by miles and separated and resources. Young people are increasingly willing and ready to come out of their shadow into American lifestyle. Immigrant community advocates rooted in different parts of America have similar experiences with shared concerns and expirations. Delegates across different sectors introduced social and moral justice reforms in fixing economic systems (Jonas, 2009).

America's immigration policy mirrors this nation while helping the country determine measures for future economic growth. For decades, immigrants have founded the economy strength of U.S.. If the immigration systems are not treated well, economic losses in the global economy would occur. Innovations in America depend on the help of immigrants. In the U.S., immigrants account for 30% of new businesses. These populations have high chances of securing innovation patents and they account for $2 trillion in consumer buying power. Research studies reveal that immigration reforms have a likelihood of adding 2% to American GDP by the end of 2018. However, the American government must employ all strategies to ensure elite immigrants are retained in the country. For this reason, the government introduced stapling of green cards for advanced degree holder in mathematics, engineering, and technology (Berkman, 2006).

In the near future, immigration reforms will undergo comprehensive reforms as an array of the proposal is trafficking through congress. More reforms are in the offing honoring the values of Americans and immigrants hence enriched American life. This is a source of cultural, civic, and economic diversity, which keeps the U.S. On the cutting edge. This is a peculiar source of America's dignity and pride. Adjusting the U.S. immigration policies and the system is of utter importance and the most appropriate thing to be done on the U.S. economy (Berkman, 2006).

Advocacy and community service efforts available to social workers to provide services on both micro and macro levels

There are different categories of social; this section has focused on micro and macro levels. Macro level of provision of social services is based on intervention methods of providing large-scale services with great impact on the entire healthcare systems and communities. Micro level of social work is based on common healthcare practices happening directly between a client and professional. Regardless of the varied social work levels, social workers need a Masters degree in social work for their knowledge, to be strengthened. This broadens their knowledge in the practice and their career opportunities. The two social work levels sometimes tend to overlap each other, hence chances of influencing one another (Jonas, 2009).

Looking at the macro level of social work, the practice uses the efforts of helping patients by large systems of intervention. They include lobbying for healthcare law to be changed, lobbying for changes in the entire social policy, and advocating for healthcare law adjustments. The practice of macro social work distinguishes between other forms of healthcare provision, including psychiatry and social profession. The practice of macro social work is used to address issues pertaining to experiences in the micro level of social work. Through macro practice, clients are empowered to participate in systemic change (Berkman, 2006).

On the other hand, micro level of social work is the most well-known form of social work. Most people think that most social workers use this form of service provision.

Concerning micro level of social work, social workers engage with families or clients in solving problems. Some of the most popular examples include helping families and clients find appropriate social services, healthcare, and housing facilities (Jonas, 2009). Individual counseling, individual medical care, treatment of mental health, treatment of substance abuse patients and family therapy have also been categorized under micro practice level of social work. Similarly, the practice of micro social work may comprise of social work in the military, where social military workers assist service military members cope in varied challenging situations. All levels of macro interventions are rooted in discussions between a single patient and a single social care professional.

Implications for the Black Perspective

The Black Perspective concerns varied perspectives between blacks and whites in the U.S. This is the most democratic and prosperous nation where opportunities for material gain and personal growth are encouraged to foreign visitors originating from overseas nations. Growth in population is occasioned by immigration, together with capitalist economic development based on professional and economic competitiveness, equity, and excellence. For many foreigners living in the U.S. urban cities, they live a modernized daily life based on Eurocentric context.

Life aspects are constantly held as benign including forms of media, technology, residential areas, religion, individual areas of the profession and clothing are constantly perceived as mainstream (Lusk, Staudt & Moya, 2012). Such lifestyles lead to confusions regarding national and personal identity. In such contexts, children from black families are either exposed to an educational system supporting their cultural values or subjects of a dominant culture. For decades, the education systems in America have subjected programs that do not reflect the dominant power of the colonial forces. Therefore, these programs have affected the development of identity for the black community. The black community has shown their glory towards the Eurocentric oppression and civilization through their daily curricula. This is one of the main implications for the identity of the black community and their relationship with other Americans (Trotter, 2010).

The relationship between blacks and whites has formed social fabric where the two communities negotiate the country for their relationships. In this regard sharp and frequent contests are observed social status. This social shape is whereby social, historical and spiritual perspectives of black and white people in America are dichotomous, hence challenging to reconcile the two communities. The underlying differences evidenced in the dichotomized views have adversely affected the implementation of shared identity concept where both whites and blacks can accept. The association between whites and blacks has been identified an ethical space focusing on the sustenance of personal capacity and integrity for the duty, good, obligation and responsibility of the cherished concepts. This characterization is associated with the common concept that the U.S. has had a detrimental effect of on the most desperate ethnic disparities between the whites and the blacks (Trotter, 2010).

Various researchers have made significant attempts ate illustrating how these relationships have been sustained and the respective identity battles between the history, experiences and perspectives of two groups. These relationships have been described as jagged global perceptions existing between two distinct spheres. Much concentration has been put on the prevailing social and cultural space between the white and the black people in regards to how the two communities address one another. These two groups have distinct cultural differences. They operate on a form of social space where status and association are featured as an abstract area with united cultural perspectives (Trotter, 2010).

There are huge disparities in the healthcare and health status between blacks and whites in the U.S. These disparities have not shown any signs of diminishing in the near future.
