New technologies such as management information system strategy are important in order to remain competitive through enhance internal and external functions (Chaffey, 2002).

Johnson plc should invest in Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) technology that would allow it to exchange valuable information such as order updates, product prices and transaction schedules to their suppliers and customers. This should be rolled on a value added network (VAN) (Kleinschmidt,2010). The firm should integrate its applications in a single Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system (Haiwook, 2001). This should be done by specialist as regulated by industry standards.

Marketing and Sales department

Johnson plc should employ elaborate marketing and sales techniques in ensuring that it realizes profitability. As Gerard (2008) points out, it is important to coordinate the marketing and the sales functions of an organization across the whole revenue cycle.
