Despite high security in Baghdad, house searches, and strret patroling by the troops, the city remains pagued with violence. The current situation makes the use of miltary force as remedy for the current situation a useless option. A joint operation by Iraqi and coalition forces by the name of Operation Forward Together was also launched but jihadi elements, sectarian forces and nationalist elements continue to paly havoc with the security situation. Shiite and Sunni violent elements continue to hanut each other and resultantly inncoent people including women and children keep on losing their lives. The loss of innocent lives by the armed culprits in the daylight make people less confident of their security forces and skeptical of the seriousness on part of government.

The failure of efforts in the form of Operation Forward Together made the role of Iraqi security forces doubtful. In current situation people are unable to live their life normally. Iraqis are more afraid of the security of their children in the face of violence, bombings, and kidnappings. The life of children and teenagers has been affected more as they are unable to carry out activities that normal children and teenagers can anywhere else in the world. The only respite avaiable to Iraqis is in te form of acces to satellite television. Many wealthy Iraqis have fled and are residing in other Arab countries. Those who are left are trying to eke out a living despite unfavorable condition. Iraqi people should be saluted for surving daily killings and bombings. Their hope for their country and their own lives have not faded yet.

Leadership Issue: Iraq is facing a serious problem of leadership. The fledling government of al-Maliki is finding it difficult to manage the sectarian and other disparate forces together. When South Africa was affected badly by the apartheit leaders like Nelson Mandela rescued the nation from the pits of racial violence.
Leadersahip plays a key role in giding the nation in dire circumstances. Iraqis need a potent leadership now to help the nation resolve its differences. So far the situation is grim. " In 3/1/2 years of covering Iraq, I have not come across a single leader who has seemed able to rise above petty political and sectarian interests. Never mind a Mandela; there's not even an Iraqi Hamid Karzai. The beleagured Afghan President has more credibility with his people than any Iraqi politician can honestly claim. In the absence of statesman, I fear the sectarian furies that have been unleashed in Iraq will hack away at the last vestiges of sense and decency and drag the country into a final fight to death" (Ghosh, 2006).

Conclusions:

Violent elements in Iraq are trying to take advantage of the Sectarian and ethnic differences within Iraq. They want Shiites, Kurds and Sunnis to fight among each other. These different groups still have their own militias and they are usually get stirred by provocations made by the conspiratorial forces. Iraqis themselves have to rise against such forces. They have to realize that vested interests want to exploit their differnces. Only Iraqis themsleves can handle such a delicate situation. They have to encourage leadership that unites rather than divides. If they want to see their countryu intact and on the road of prosperity they have to side with strong forces of unison. They have to let go of their petty differences on the basis of ace, religion and ethnicity and unite under the one umbrella. Even moral and silent support of violent groups within the common poulation should end. Only Iraqis should and can win in the end......
