To continue to rely on old models while new technology is available is negligence. Therefore the authors are adding to the knowledge base of this issue by offering a new model and pointing to a new direction for scientific research. Yet, they fail to do this in a manner that can be consumed by a wide readership. The need to review is based on that issue; the need to revise it is based on the very functional application of the research finding. Science can be interpreted in many ways, and the more common the denominator of language, the more widely available the knowledge will be. To keep such findings at the level where the researchers work from would be fine if that knowledge was only applicable to their inner laboratories. However, the findings have a very wide and very important application in the real world: to help cancer patients suffer their disease and treatment more tolerably. Better health outcomes result not only from better technologies, but also from an overall better experience by the patient undergoing difficult treatments. This is a serious issue that the authors have failed to note, instead putting forth for publication a wealth of mathematical models that may not be easily digested by the breadth of the readership.
It would be a shame to see such a valuable finding not be followed up on due to lack of awareness of the research.

Minor Comments

The interpretation as in all parts of the article needs more work on style and grammar. The math and the graphs are fine demonstrations, yet the importance of the interpretations needs to be brought out in full strength through use of language, not mathematical symbols.
