Climate change, or global warming, is threating the ecosystems of millions of different species. There are at least 8 million unique species of life on the planet and many of the animals are under a threat that is not due to direct human involvement (Walsh). The habitat destruction that is being caused is not something that animal protection acts can address. The problem is with the changing conditions of the environment, these species are losing their habitats altogether or being forced to either migrate or adapt. There have been five extinction waves in the planet's history -- including the Permian extinction 250 million years ago, when an estimated 70% of all terrestrial animals and 96% of all marine creatures vanished, and, most recently, the Cretaceous event 65 million years ago, which ended the reign of the dinosaurs (Walsh). Therefore, it could be said that the environmental protection acts or not only a waste of money, but relatively useless as well as the conditions of the planet change.

Conclusion

The extensive loss of money, what science has told us through the theory of evolution, and finally how evolution is evident in thought history.
Only one conclusion can be drawn from these startling facts. Only the strong will survive and to go against the will of Mother Nature will surely bring about destruction and heartache. As such, the only logical thing to do is to simple let the animals fade off into the history books. Furthermore, not only are efforts to protect these animals marginal at best, they are expensive and they violate personal freedoms. These protections of animals have become so burdensome that people cannot even keep them straight anymore. Progressive Conservative Leader Tim Hudak told a reporter in a newspaper article that the measures protecting endangered species that undermine business and agriculture, Hudak told 700 rural municipal politicians he would slash "the more than 300,000 regulations, outdated rules, and runaround that you have to cope with just to get something done. (Benzie)" Even if the protections did help some animals, the costs of these measures certainly outweigh their benefits, they violate the rights of individuals and businesses in general, and, in the end, they are probably redundant anyway if the climate is changing.
