The IRB would have to approve the research design to make sure there is informed consent, privacy, proper recruitment strategies, and safeguards for the population. For example, questions the IRB might ask would be: Did participants understand the study\'s purpose, risks, and benefits? Were informed consent documents available in Spanish for LEP participants?
