The leader persuades the people to make them see his perception point, and hence earn their trust. Additionally, in working with others, the manager focuses on directing the groups. The manager gives directives to the people. On the contrary, the leader creates a team, thus treats all as part of the action. In this way, the leader incorporates the views and feelings of all that work with him. Lastly, the manager has an aspect of trying to be the hero in the work place, whereas the leader makes heroes of the people around them.

Similarities

There are a few similarities between an effective manager and an effective leader in their line of work. In the course of their duties, the leader and the managers have goals set they work to achieve. Therefore, despite having different types of goal setting strategies, they both set goals (Gamage 2006, p. 78). Therefore, this constitutes a similarity in their work. Secondly, to achieve their respective goals, the leaders and managers do not work without support. Therefore, an effective leader and an effective manager will mobilize and utilize the resources available. The leaders and the managers mobilize and utilize the resources they have, whether in the form of tangible structures or in human effort (Adair 2009, p. 90). They mobilize the human resource as well as the other forms of resources to attain their goals. Thus, they both share this similarity.

Additionally, an effective leader and an effective have the similarity in that; they construct the link between the top management and subordinates. The effective leader and manager is always in touch with the top leadership directly, and the subordinate employees. Therefore, the leader or manager will act as the link between the two departments of people within the setting of the work place. The leader or manager is the bridge for the subordinates to reach their grievances to the top management.

In executing their duties, the leaders and managers do not single-handedly do the work. They are facilitators to the activity that is taking place (Beerel 2009 p. 19). Therefore, the leaders and managers have a similarity in that they depend on the subordinates to execute their plans and visions. Therefore, they work in correlation within the subordinates, motivating and influencing hem to work. Therefore, it is clear that both professionals rely on the working of the subordinates to execute their duties effectively. An effective leader and an effective manager share these similarities in their course of working.

Impact of an effective leader in promoting quality early years practice

In the development of a person, they go through various stages of life. These include the educational systems that children attend. In these institutions of learning, it is essential to prepare them for the life ahead, especially if they have a vision of being a leader someday.
Every person becomes a leader at some level of their lives, hence the need to equip the young in leadership practices. An effective leader has several impacts that can promote positive development of the people within their environment (Adair 2005, p. 14).

Among these impacts is the aspect of acquisition of knowledge, skills, attitudes and perceptions. An effective leader will help the people around him in developing their skills of work in case of a work place setting (Adair 2005, p. 81). Additionally, in the setting of the family, the leader shapes the attitudes and perceptions of the people around him, and even children in attending to challenges. Therefore, the leader prepares the child for future challenges.

Another impact is that they can facilitate behavior change. An effective leader has various characters such as innovativeness, originality and teamwork among other (Beerel 2009 p. 42). With these qualities, they can influence the behavior of that person who does things alone, to learn to apply teamwork. Moreover, the leader does the right thing. Therefore, this helps develop a positive behavior such as honesty, of the people around them, whether at work place or in the family setting. The young thus grow into responsible beings in the society. Additionally, the effective leader, through their values and practices, can influence a change of values and beliefs within the people. For instance, a leader accepts a challenge and finds means of tackling it, thus the people develop a belief that nothing is impossible if one sets their efforts into doing the activity.

The effective leader also develops relations with the people around him or her (Gamage 2006, p. 57). Therefore, this can help in improving the relationship establishment process of the young people and even those in the place of employment and at home to the children or parents. The people learn aspects of positive relations, hence promoting their future development. Lastly, the leader establishes a leadership path. The leader sets a channel for the others, whether the children, the parents or colleagues at the work place to follow. On this way, the leader creates a foundation and path of growing future leaders and advancing the available leaders.

Conclusion

The leader and manger are essential personnel in the success of any organization. Therefore, despite their differences and similarities, they all need each other to complement one another. Therefore, people should not mix the roles of leader with those of manager, and develop quality and effective managers and leaders. With quality and effective managers and leaders, the organization can achieve greater things than they set. Therefore, the role of the two personnel is remarkable significant. Additionally, an effective leader is key in the development of the community around him. The leader has a duty to exhibit characters that develop the others in their early growth towards leadership, whether at home or in the work place......
