What's more embarrassing is that I had to sit in the front row so I ended up like a superstar being watched by the whole class. It was not fun. It really wasn't. But in the end I think it is better to be looked over than to be overlooked. And if my classmates would talk about me, well, I would say, "there is only one thing in life worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about." I am glad I am at the better side.

When I was younger, my mother would always tell me, "Son, honesty is the best policy. If you are honest, people may cheat you, but be honest anyway." George Washington once said "it is better to offer no excuse than a bad one." I believe that's true, very true actually. But a voice keeps telling me to remain silent and not say anything. Speaking to people may create distance between me and them. What I intended as an action to bring people together does the exact opposite. I wonder if my mom and Mr. George Washington have realized that too. Too much honesty may cost you friendships and even love. People really don't like honesty; most people prefer to be lied to.
