Macy's Flower Show has been ongoing annually for over 60 years. Many special events and charitable events are held during and in conjunction with the show. Whether organizations are raising money related things, such as the Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park, or organizations are making donations to local areas throughout the cities involved in the show, Macy's Flower Show definitely has a big impact on local areas each year.

For many visitors to the shows from state-to-state, Macy's offers a gorgeous environment for shoppers to experience a gigantic indoor and artistic shopping environment, free of charge. Many charitable events cost visitors donations ranging from $5 up to $300, depending on what the donation is for, but the events offer a great deal of enjoyment for families each year and gives local area people something fun to do.

The shows usually go on for a few days in major U.S. cities and start at the end of March and goes through mid-April.
Visitors to the shows can walk through several floors of exhibits and displays on their own or can take a 20-minute guided tour.

Each event from city to city offers unique and different events. For example, at the 2010 Herald Square Show in New York City, the Macy's Flower Show offered the world's largest living history museum. Operated by the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, the historic show showcases the lives of the people who build and inspire America as a nation. The Colonial Williamsburg Pleasure Garden features herbs, ornamental plants and 18th century gardening tools.
