Malls

Park Plaza Mall is a very appealing mall. For instance, the overall feel of the mall is bright and lively because it was remodeled ten years ago with a glass ceiling. This not only gave the mall a more contemporary look, but it also gives the mall a positive feel. The modern architecture appeals to the shopper. The mall is three stories tall, with a glass elevator in the center of the building. This is an example of the modern aspects of the facility.

The mall is also dominated by the presence of two Dillard Department stores on both main entrances. This is an unusual arrangement, with the men's and children's store located on one mall entrance and women's and house stuff located on the other entrance. Both stores occupy the first and second levels. Other trendy merchants include Banana Republic, The Gap, Eddie Bauer, Abercrombie and Fitch and Talbot's. In addition, the mall offers The Rolling Pin, the Bombay Company, Crabtree and Evelyn and Bath and Body Works for those with more specialized shopping in mind. The lower level consists of eating franchises, the Movie Theater with six screens, rest rooms, and Customer Service areas.
The mall uses the spectacle of light and glass to enhance its modest decoration, which consists of large plants.

The mall invites the upper class because of its structure and dominating Dillard's presence. The mall also appeals the younger generation, as it has many merchants that target the very current trends. Another reason why this Park Plaza needs to remain contemporary is because it is only a few blocks from then university.

Students are often found in the mall passing time between classes or in the evenings after a day of school. Overall, Park Plaza seems to be safe place to shop.

In contrast, McCain Mall is a large and somewhat older mall. One aspect about the mall that is negative is compared to Park Plaza is the enclosed feeling. The mall also has a Customer Service area at the main entrance, which for some reason doesn't do….....
