Conclusion

The research showed that medicinal plants, commonly referred to as medicinal herbs, have been used by humankind for thousands of years for virtually every type of misery, real or imagined. The research also showed that the resurgence of interest in medicinal plants today relates not only to their potential for providing new medicine preparations, but the fact that there is an enormous amount of money involved as well, with little or none of it being returned by the multinational pharmaceutical companies to the indigenous peoples who depend on these plant materials as a primary source of medicine.
