The work describes how this conception of globalization came to the forefront of the idea of human conciseness an that it is a collective of the idea that the world is transforming in such a way that it can no longer afford to look toward difference, and especially nationalism as the dominant force. The work also stresses that this world view is dominated by the idea that the "virtues" of one form of political thought, i.e. democracy will overrule those of all others. That democracy is the overarching solution to the development of a "global human society."

The article a Global Society demonstrates that the idea of globalization may have natural progression and that globalization in ideal is the intensification of understanding between peoples that shows the interconnectivity of each and the similarities over the differences to acknowledge that we are one world, and one society and that old divisions are and have been left behind.

In this work Eurocentrism applies to the idea that the development of a modern "one world" ideal is tainted by the idea that defines the modern in Europe and the U.S., i.e. Democracy and economic prosperity. Classical social theory demonstrates that Eurocentric ideals of the modern are impossible to escape and again the work testifies that it is unlikely that there can be an idea of modernity that is not developed as a Eurocentric model.


3. "The Introduction: The Problem of Globalization Theory"

The work describes the development of globalization as an ideal of social change that is entrenched in classical social theory and which defines the concepts of society. The work stresses that reality has changed very little and that there are clearly still social and political divides but the idea is that global inter- connectivity and growth is a positive social development and that interdependence marks a change in the social development of the world that will in retrospect be seen as a transition to the new millennium. The author then goes about dissecting the problem with this emphasis as the only emphasis that defines social thought and discovery at this time.
