Nurse in Improving Health Care Services (South Africa)

Nurses in South African community play a role in many important ways to the enhancement of individuals' health. They are pioneers of changes to systems in the community that assist the health. Besides, they play key roles in dealing with illness, impairment, and damage protection and in promotion of health. Nurses in this community function in progressively diverse environments like community health centers, educational institutions, street clinics, youth centers, and medical outposts with different associates whilst fulfilling the health needs of the communities around them.

Nursing is mainly assisting individuals (sick or well) in the performance of those actions leading to wellness, or its restoration (or to a relaxing death) that they would execute unaided if they had the necessary strength, will, or information. It is the exclusive contribution of nurses to help individuals to be independent of such assistance as soon as possible. Nurses are temporarily the consciousness of the subconscious, the love of life of people seeking suicide, the leg of the amputee, the sight of the recently sightless, a means of locomotion for the infant, information and confidence for the young mothers, a speech for those too poor to talk, and so on.

This role, as just defined, is the one most of us wish someone will execute when we need 'nursing' and I believe no other healthcare staff wants to claim it or take it from nursing staff. As such, this role is infinitely complicated. This is because it needs identification and knowing all types of individuals whether male and female, babies, the mature, the middle-aged and the older, the ignorant and the learned, the wealthy and the poor, and people of all races. This idea of the nurse's exclusive role requires them to comprehend the essential needs of human beings. This will enable them help their customers or patients offer for all those needs or create their lifestyles as regular and effective as possible. Even during sickness nursing staff are health employees who act interdependently with other health employees. They should be experts of their exclusive role and the healthcare system allows them to create, launch, and be accountable for all methods relating to patient's needs.

Therefore, the nurse is an independent specialist. In situations where other associates of the health group (like the doctor, the dietician, the physiotherapist, or the public worker) are not available, the nurse may be the individual best trained to provide the help such professionals would provide when available. Professional nurses are always ready to screen patients and, if not able to help them with their health issues, they know how to relate them to other appropriate medical care suppliers. It has been recommended that physician assistants, nurses, and physician associates may offer all main primary care in the coming years.

The idea of nursing as de-ned earlier seems to be open-ended. The complexity and service quality is limited only by the creativity and the proficiency of the health professional who translates it. Any presentation, however, indicates a personalized service offered with the individual's knowing or approval and in the case of a baby, the small child, the subconscious individual, or the psychologically de-cient, it indicates the knowing and approval of the parents or guardian. Nursing has clearly been concerned with interpreting and calculating top quality long before the current national and State-level focus on top quality enhancement.

The most critical participation of nurses to improvement of healthcare services in South African community is the ability to organize and incorporate the several aspects of quality within the proper care directly provided by nursing and across the proper care provided by others. This integrative function is probably a component of the oft-repeated finding that better employment (greater percentage of registered nurses to other medical staff) is related to less problems and lower death rate. While this procedure is not obvious in most correlational studies, many think it is related to the positions of professional nursing staff in enhancing healthcare services (which includes interception of mistakes by others -- near misses), as well as the surveillance and monitoring that recognizes risks and individual deterioration….....
