I want my patients safe, and I want them to maintain as much of their health as possible while on the road to recovery and/or acceptance of their conditions (in the event that they have an illness that is terminal or a progressive disorder or injury for which there is no cure).

In order to do my job effectively, I will need to learn all I can; continuing education in the field of nursing will be a key factor concerning my job performance and Nursing Career 5

my ability to provide the best care possible to my patients. I first plan to earn my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and pass the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX-RN). I then plan to complete a nursing internship in order to get "hands on" experience in my career field, find a nursing mentor who can share with me his/her career experiences, and then begin training as a nursing supervisor so that I will gain leadership knowledge. Finally, I hope to earn my Master's degree in nursing and become a highly respected and hopefully great leader in the field of nursing. With a BSN, I hope to make between $30 and $40 per hour. With a Master's in nursing, I hope to make over $100,000 per year, maybe being a critical care nurse practitioner (Nurse Practitioner Salary). Although money is not the reason I chose to make nursing my profession, it is an incentive. Care giving is a job that requires a significant amount of time, integrity, and perseverance; as so, the job should pay accordingly.

Results

In conclusion, I am very excited to step into the field of nursing; and, I have such high hopes and aspirations concerning my new career. Being welcomed into such a prestigious field as the medical field is such an honor within itself. Turning my interpersonal traits and compassion for others into a thriving career will be a "dream come true" for me. Once I graduate with my BSN and pass the NCLEX-RN, I feel many doors will open for me that will provide me with the experience I need to be a good nurse.
I plan to ask many questions to each and every mentor that crosses my path because I am hungry for the personal knowledge of other's (s') experiences in the field. Advice from mentors can most certainly be helpful; it can even save lives. I have high hopes that once

I gain the experience that I need to become a better than adequate nurse, I can then move into a position of supervision, and learn leadership skills. I hope to be a "charge nurse" or a nursing department "head" of some sort. Once I earn my Master's in nursing, I hope to possibly run my own office, overseen by a doctor. I may even pursue becoming a doctor myself. I look forward to the positive aspects associated with my career. Each time that a sick patient makes enough progress in order to go home and/or have a better quality of life; it will rewarding for me to know that I because I did my job as a nurse, someone has been helped. I know that with this career will also come many challenges, such as time management, careful distribution of prescribed drugs, crucial supervision of patients with special needs due to progressive diseases, disorders and/or handicaps, and also the heartache of losing patients. Knowing that I at least made a difference in the lives of each and every one of my patients will indeed be the driving force that will see me through the challenges of nursing, keeping me balanced and focused so that I can help the next patient that comes before me.
